I've always hoped that quasi-Earthlike planets are even more common than that, so that STL starships and probes could reach them more easily- at 10% C, we could reach Alpha C in 50 yrs. but it would take 250 yrs. to reach a planet located 25 lyrs. away. Wouldn't matter so much if superluminal spaceships were possible, though, like EE "Doc" Smith's old Triplanetary and Lensman stories where solar systems are assumed to be incredibly rare per planet formation theories of the time, so a faster-than-light starship can cross the galaxy before locating a single one. Somehow, I suspect it would be even more frustrating to have access to the galaxy and find hardly any planets to visit than it is to know that Earthlike planets are probably not rare at all, but that it is just hard to reach them. With access to the entire galaxy, 1/500 solar systems having inhabitable planets would make them seem as common as dirt. XD
